About Tim Lai ArchitecT

Experienced in a variety of building types, we focus on commercial and residential projects. On the commercial side, we have worked with clients who are opening or renovating restaurants, bars and cafes, retail stores, entertainment facilities, etc. We’ve also worked with existing businesses that are expanding and moving to larger spaces. On the residential side, our clients seek us out to design anything from new-built construction to house addition to renovation. Our design-oriented focus and modern aesthetics have created interesting spaces as we offer our clients efficient design solutions that can be achieved on time and on budget.

Biography:

Tim Lai is a licensed architect (State of Ohio & Indiana) with 20 years of professional experience. He received his Master of Architecture from SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) and moved to Columbus in 2001. Having worked at Triad Architects and NBBJ, he is experienced in many building types and projects of various scales in the U.S. and overseas. In 2010, Tim started his own practice with his wife Eliza Ho to focus on local and regional projects. He has since built a reputation for his elegant and functional design with modern sensibility. The couple has also created Dinin’ Hall, Columbus first street food hub, and ALTernative, a non-profit group that promotes the use of art and design to improve Columbus’ neighborhoods. Completed projects include SoHud Tree Mural, Ohio Birds Mural, Mural on Main, the Gift Garden, and Playing Through, a street piano commissioned by Dublin Arts Council
